How do you take a 1:6 scale plastic toy and turn it into a massive, 1:1 physical experience? You design without limits. During my time as Head Designer at West Coast Customs, I was tasked with conceptualizing the ultimate childhood icon: the life-size Barbie Dream Camper. Instead of building a vehicle for the street, the mission was to engineer a flawless, stationary custom prop that felt 100% real. From designing the unmistakable pop-out lounge features to dialing in the bespoke, hyper-customized interior, this project was a masterclass in taking a wild, out-of-the-box fantasy and turning it into a larger-than-life physical installation.
